Welcome to Stirling
Stirling is a very scenic and historical town of about 86 000 people, situated in the centre of Scotland at the lowest crossing point on the River Forth. The earliest records make reference to Stirling as far back as the 7th century but the Castle itself dates back to the 12th. During the middle ages Stirling shared being Scotland's capital with Edinburgh as its Castle was a favoured residence with many kings over the ages.

( * ) As of Thursday 14th March 2002 as part of the Queen's Golden Jubilee, the Town and Royal Burgh of Stirling was given City status, because of its very long Royal connections.
